Talk based on the publication ‘Unnatural cycles: impact on human and planetary health’, by Gibson and Stewart, 2022.
For some years I have had a concern that too many policies are created on either short -term views, or without sight of the bigger picture. I am glad to say that this a view which is shared with a number of my colleagues. Lockdown provided the perfect opportunity to step back, and write a couple of papers, which were observational or a commentary, as opposed to straightforward research. I am happy to say that both of them were accepted and published. The hope was that each of them would engender discussion. With that in mind, I am delighted to have been asked to talk to the Scibar group on this thinking, and hopefully generate some great exchanges between us all.
