Together for Nature: Small Steps, Big Difference

With extreme weather, species being endangered, climate change, and more, it can be difficult to see what you can do to help the planet. Nas and Nat will share what conservation means to them, and the small steps you can make to help conserve the only home we have, giving hope for future generations.

Nas graduated with a degree in Zoo Animal Management and has a strong passion for animal welfare and wildlife conservation. While interested in species worldwide, Nas is especially dedicated to protecting and preserving the UK’s native wildlife, from the smallest insects to larger mammals. With a particular fondness for mammals, Nas is also passionate about honeybees and primates. Nas is eager to inspire others to take simple but meaningful steps to support local conservation. Currently working at a new zoo in development, Holmes Chapel Zoo, Nas is looking forward to building conservation initiatives and community engagement projects, that will help safeguard wildlife for the future.

Nat has been interested in animals since childhood. With various pets in the house growing up, a passion for their care quickly developed. This continued to develop into an interest in wild animals with trips to the zoo, where she remembers being that child on school trips who had to read all the signs and gain as much knowledge of the animals as possible, and not just look at them! Watching David Attenborough documentaries and Crocodile Hunter led her to achieve a BSc (Hons) in Zoology and Conservation, which helped her love of animals develop into a passion for conservation. Because of this, she has volunteered with the Cheshire Wildlife Trust and Lower Moss Wood.
